This is one model in Panasonic’s very popular Viera line of flat screen televisions. It is a LCD television, which sets it apart from other flat screen televisions that use plasma technology to operate. There are many features in the Viera line which make them user friendly and the TXL32S10 has a number of them. They include V-Audio Surround Sound and Viera Link networking capabilities. The excellent thing about this model’s surround sound is that it uses sensory technology to gage the size of the room and adjusts the sound accordingly.
A television needs to be adaptable for a number of different uses. It needs to work as a monitor for many gaming systems and this requires a screen that can formulate the image very quickly to adapt to rapid image changes that many fast paced video games require. This TXL32S10 television has several different modes including movies, gaming, normal and dynamic viewing. The adaptability of the screen is one thing that makes this model very popular with gamers. In addition, it has a very wide viewing area (178 degrees), which allows viewers to sit on an angle and watch the screen distortion free.
However, while the image quality was quite good, there are a few drawbacks to this TXL32S10 model. While the screen pixel mapping was quite good, it did not conform to 1:1 screen pixel mapping. This unfortunately may make this television unusable by people who want to look at text-based items. The critical white-black uniformity was excellent but as far as individual pixels, there was no edge sharpening enhancement that could be seen, and in some areas the pixels seemed quite soft. However, if you are attempting to use this television for other applications, the edge pixel softening may not be something you want.
As an entry level television the TXL32S10 still exhibits a lot of the styling which the Panasonic Viera line is noted for. The most notable advantage is the remote control unit. It is a simply designed unit with an excellent layout for intuitive use. It also allows you to operate other AV equipment and this, when coupled with the Viera link networking system makes it simple and straightforward for you to use all AV components together as a cohesive whole. Viera link allows you to connect different AV components with an HDMI cable and then operate them using your television remote.
If you have an interest in digital photography, there are two features which make the TXL32S10 an excellent choice. The first is the capacity for the television to accept SD memory cards via a slot in the unit and display the contents of the card onscreen. The second is that any new LUMIX camera that is equipped with an HDMI output terminal can be connected to the television via a cable and you can also view your digital images in that way. This is an excellent feature for people who want to display their images to family and friends but do not want to be tied to using a computer.
While there are many features which make this TXL32S10 television appealing to many people, it is an entry level LCD television and this is something you should remember. While there are a number of amazing features, there are some issues with this television. While the glossy finish of the television looks quite stylish, it is prone to scratching and will show fingerprints which may put some people off this model. Also, as far as screen images are concerned, while the image quality is good, if you are a performance user who wants to push this unit you may find you are unable to calibrate the screen to the extent you may wish to.
But don’t let the few drawbacks put you off of considering this unit. While high performance users may wish to purchase a higher priced unit, the truth remains that for the money it is an extremely durable and well thought out option.
